Café auction hall

About the project

The project aims to set up a café in an existing space that has been operated as a second-hand store for many years. With a café, the business will be further developed from a store to a social meeting place in the community.

Through the project, residents of Järbo will gain access to a local café and a community in the place they live.

From the application

”The history of the auction hall dates back to 1975 when the Myller brothers started the auction business. The auction hall is now a pure second-hand store with regular customers and collectors, but also new faces and younger target groups as second-hand and recycling become increasingly trendy.

We want to develop the business with a café to create a natural meeting place where young and old can gather to have lunch, meet over a coffee break, or just have a coffee and chat a bit. We see a clear need for community and a gathering place in the area that we want to help meet.”

New café and serving area in the store and new kitchen

Purpose of the project:

The purpose is to further develop the auction hall's operations into a social meeting point. By opening a café in
the store, we want to attract more visitors than those who come today. Currently, there is no similar café in the village,
and we want to meet the need for a local café and a natural place for people
to gather.

Goals of the project:

When the project is completed, we will have a fully functioning café with a kitchen where we can bake and prepare simpler
dishes. We have also marketed and conducted an opening event for our new café.
