During the summer of 2025, Bro village community carried out the Sprint activity ”Bro village through the ages!” Through interviews with villagers, eight films and eight signs with old photographs were created, which are now displayed in places around the village. The signs tell the history of the village and have QR codes that lead to the films on the Youtube channel Bro Village Community.

The project has created both a physical and digital meeting place, strengthened collaboration with local associations, and sparked new interest in the village's history. The work continues through the films, the signs, and plans for more interviews, a village website, and as an extra bonus, Bro village has a new logo inspired by old brand marks.

Erskine – folding screen exhibition

During the summer of 2025, JTJ Museum Society the project Folding screen exhibition about Erskine. The association designed, built, and installed folding screens in wood and corten steel with images and texts, placed near the museum railway and the Forest Worker Village in Jädraås. The inauguration was in connection with Erskine Day and attracted about 80 visitors.

The project has created two new meeting places and contributed to increased attention around Jädraås and the architect Ralph Erskine. Through collaborations with ELASTIC Gallery and Gästrikeguiden, the area has gained a new reason to visit and more visitors. The work has been done voluntarily, and the screens are now used as a starting point for guided tours – an addition that strengthens Jädraås as a destination.

Walking paths in Gästrike-Hammarby 

The Gästrike-Hammarby village association wants to create three thematic walking paths that highlight the village's unique history – the ironworks period, the pulp period, and the legacy of architect Ralph Erskine.
The walks will start from an information board in the village with mailboxes where visitors can borrow descriptions, and the information will also be available on the association's website. An inauguration frames and concludes the Sprint activity.

The purpose is to make the local history more known and accessible to both residents and visitors, strengthen the village's identity, and contribute to increased community and tourism. The work is done in collaboration with several other organizations.
The walking paths should remain long-term and be designed sustainably.

Balloon-SM in Ockelbo – officials and documentation

Ockelbo Organizing Association conducted the Swedish Championship in ballooning 2025 to strengthen the location's opportunities for more events. Over 40 officials were trained in hospitality, safety, and collaboration and actively participated during the competition days. Within the Sprint activity, documentation was made in film and pictures for inspiration and material for future events.

The project has increased the competence of officials, strengthened collaborations, and built long-term capacity for future events. The significant voluntary engagement was crucial, and the training model and documentation will be used for upcoming events.

The Cycling Festival

The association Nature Power Gästrikland conducted the Cycling Festival in June 2025 in Ockelbo and Jädraås. The event featured children's races, guided bike tours, exhibitions, lectures, and After Bike, attracting around 100 participants.

Through collaboration between several local actors, the Cycling Festival has increased interest in cycling as a leisure activity and sustainable means of transport, while also creating a new network for future outdoor events. Thanks to significant voluntary engagement, the Cycling Festival is planned to become a recurring feature in Ockelbo's and Jädraås' summer calendar.

Workshop on Expressive Guiding

The GästrikeGuiden Association has a full-day workshop in Rönnåsstugan, Ockelbo on expressive guiding. Participants learn how to portray historical figures and places to give visitors a more vivid experience. The workshop covers everything from information searching and scriptwriting to group guiding, collaborations, and marketing.

The project aims to highlight cultural-historical sites in Gästrikland, attract more visitors, and build networks between guides and attractions. The results are documented in a short report and will later be followed up with support and follow-up meetings in the spring of 2026.

Winter bathing strengthens health and community! 

The Foundation Forsbacka mill offers trial days for residents and visitors to winter bathe in a safe and nature-close environment. The project has received support for costs such as swimming ladders, safety signs, and advertising to inform about the activity.

The activity is carried out in collaboration with actors such as Bastumajoren, the Theater Association, and the Local Heritage Association while also highlighting Forsbacka's historical environment. 

After the project's end, the activity is planned to continue year-round, focusing on health, community, and sustainability – socially, economically, and environmentally.

Housing for all – Increased collaboration is needed to develop
Norrsundet and the entire Hamrånge region

The Hamrångebygden Association – building community cooperative rental rights association – invites residents, associations, businesses, and politicians to two open workshops on housing needs and future development in Norrsundet and Hamrångebygden. The purpose is to discuss together how to meet the demand for new attractive housing, both for young people who want to establish themselves and for older people who want to stay in the community.

The meetings are based on facts about today's housing market and previous analyses, which are updated with local perspectives. The collected knowledge is documented in a shorter final report.

The project is carried out in collaboration with local associations, housing actors, and businesses. The final report will be taken forward by the Hamrångebygden Development Group and will become an important part of the ongoing work to make the area even more attractive to live and work in.
