Memories and music from Forsbacka

The project has recorded and digitized music and texts from Forsbacka Theater Association's previous performances (1986–1998) as well as older recordings from Forsbacka, such as the church choir and the Bruksorkestern. Singers and musicians have participated together with sound technicians in a temporary studio at the Heritage Association. The activity has been carried out in close collaboration between Forsbacka Theater Association, the Forsbacka Bruk Foundation, Forsbacka Heritage Association, and the church.
– We have preserved and made accessible an important piece of local cultural history and inspired new generations of Forsbacka residents to start creating themselves.
The result is now professionally recorded music that both preserves the cultural heritage of the industry and can be used in future performances, theme days, and other cultural events.

The activity was finally reported in March 2026.

Movement joy with Ockelbo Basket

During the autumn of 2025, Ockelbo Basket carried out the project to get more active children moving by reaching them in their everyday lives. In early September, youth leaders visited the municipality's three schools to present the association, training times and groups, as well as hold activities in the schoolyard during breaks.

The project has conducted a Basketball cup for one day in the autumn of 2025. To ensure everyone can participate, reversible match kits (jersey and shorts) – without membership requirements – have been developed.
– We want to promote physical activity, community, and equal opportunities for all children, strengthen their self-esteem and school results, and create an inclusive leisure time, says Anna Stark. The activity has been carried out in close collaboration with the schools.

The activity was finally reported at the turn of the year 2025/2026.

Gym at Hovet

Forsbacka IK wants to explore the possibility of creating a gym at Mariehov – a place where people in Forsbacka can meet, train, and feel good.

The activity is conducted as a feasibility study to find out needs, interest, and conditions for a new gym. The association collaborates with the municipality, the property owner, the Outer Area Group, organizations, businesses, and residents in the community.

The feasibility study will provide answers on who wants to use a gym, how it can be designed and operated, and create a basis for future decisions.
The result will be presented to the politicians and the property owner and serve as a basis for the next step – to be able to move forward towards a new gym for everyone in Forsbacka.

The sky is the limit

Hofors AIF wants to give people with various disabilities the opportunity to try new cultural and leisure activities that they currently have little access to.

The project includes occasions with themes such as creation, dance and song, nature and leisure life, as well as culture and games. The activities are planned together with the participants and adapted to their wishes.

The purpose is to create joy, community and strengthened self-esteem – both through movement, creativity and social interaction. Participants get the chance to develop on their own terms, feel belonging and dare to try new things in a safe environment.

The project is run by Hofors AIF in collaboration with parents, LSS housing, assistants and local cultural and leisure actors such as the Theater Association, Entré Ungdom, People's House and the Scouts.

The goal is for the activities to become a recurring part of the association's operations, and for more local actors to open their doors to the target group even after the project's end.

Historical village walk

In August 2025, Kolforsen's village association organizes a historical village walk, open to villagers and other interested parties. The walk of about 3 km tells about the village's history, houses, summer farms, tar production and schools, and ends at the beach with coffee and sing-along.

The activity is carried out in collaboration with Medborgarskolan and is based on collected material from the village's homeowners, including pictures and historical information. Information signs are permanently installed so that the walk can be conducted even after the event.

The goal has been to strengthen the community, increase pride in the village's history and make Kolforsen more known and attractive. In the long term, a book is planned to preserve the knowledge for future generations.

The activity was finalized in December 2025.

Rönnåsen

In the activity, Rönnåsstugan will be developed into a vibrant, non-profit meeting place where different associations in Ockelbo take turns being open to the public every weekend. The goal is to strengthen community, increase outdoor activities, and create meetings between generations and groups.

Several associations participate and staff with their own activities, such as serving, music, or exhibitions. The project is coordinated by Rönnåsen Forest and Youth in collaboration with Ockelbo Association Alliance, the Organizer Association, the Balloon Society, among others.

In the long term, the model should continue and become a permanent weekend activity at Rönnåsstugan – the heart of Ockelbo's outdoor life.

NOTE! The application was granted support from Leader Gästrikebygden but the applicant withdrew the application.
